Cox Hallett Wilkinson (“CHW”) has advised the liquidator of ProtoStar Ltd., ProtoStar 1 Ltd., ProtoStar II Ltd. and ProtoStar Development Ltd., Bermuda companies with US and Asian operations involved in the acquisition and launching of geostationary satellites, on the Bermuda aspects of their liquidation.
CHW has been acting as Bermuda counsel to the liquidator since July 2009 in connection with the liquidation of the companies pursuant to a complex restructuring process including a Plan of Reorganisation (under the Provisions of Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code) and Schemes of Arrangement (under the Bermuda Companies Act). In January 2012, the restructuring process was concluded when the Supreme Court of Bermuda made orders to dissolve the companies and to release the liquidator.
The CHW team of David Kessaram, Managing Director and Head of Litigation, and Sarah-Jane Hurrion, Litigation Associate, advised and appeared before the Supreme Court of Bermuda on behalf of the liquidator.
