Cox Hallett Wilkinson (“CHW”) has acted for the European Bank For Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”) in relation to a loan of up to €100 million to Renaissance Securities (Cyprus) Limited, a member of the Renaissance Capital group of companies, a leading investment bank in Russia and the CIS.
The CHW team, led by Ernest Morrison, advised on the Bermuda aspects of the loan financing. The financing was CHW’s second instruction from EBRD in six months, following the firm becoming registered as outside counsel for EBRD in Bermuda. CHW’s first engagement was a US$150 million financing for Borets, the Russian oil field services equipment manufacturer, in November 2009.
